Habitables was born in 2010 with the desire to manufacture and market the ideas and projects designed by us, our intention is to create unique pieces with the best quality possible. Based on completely local production, we want to re-enable the old and slowly craftsman and quality work, in these actual crazy days.
Our favorite thing to design is custom furniture for our clients; it’s very powerful and interesting. I enjoy the process of sending to the client sketches and photos of the actual production. I believe the future is in the hands of “manutailers” – manufacturers that become retailers and sell directly to the public. Sites like Etsy connect producers and users seamlessly; they level the playing field and make furniture production sustainable. I can’t compete with lot of known brands in terms of price, but I can certainly compete in terms of quality, durability, and above all, exclusivity.
We choose out woods from the very beginning , we select the planks with meticulosity , in our boards we use the less possible of pieces to make it , selecting specially the tone and grain .
Most of our hardware its designed for us , nowadays in the time of mass production the offer of quality hardware had fallen to the ground so we were in the need of making our own hardware.
Also we love leather , we have in Spain most of the best leather and craftsmanship of the world.
